Sailor Soldiers of America-Important Meetings

Who doesn't know about the Sailor Senshii, pretty guardians of the world?  They prevented life as we know it from being destroyed and brought peace to the Earth and the Moon.  These, of course, were the Sailors that lived in Japan.  Only those who were directly affected by them would know of the countless other Senshii that lived in each and every country.  Their methods were different than those of Sailor Moon and her friends, and they didn't save Earth and its moon from annihilation.  Still, they were the most valuable crime-fighting team to ever live, and they constantly put their lives on the line.  This is the story of the Sailors of America and how they saved their country, as well as their own individual futures.</P>

April, otherwise known as Sailor Plasma, was the leader of the S.S.A.  Unlike the others, still in high school, she was already a junior in college.  The slight difference in their ages had no effect on their friendship, even though their antics often frayed her nerves.  If they weren't quarreling amongst themselves, they were trying to get her to find a boyfriend.  It was true that she wanted to impress the opposite sex, but she was too bashful to take their suggestions.

As if her friends' persuasion wasn't enough, her grandmother was just as insistent that she find someone special.  April had lived with Gran for thirteen years, and all she wanted was to see her happily married before she died.  As much as she wanted it, though, April wasn't sure if it was a good idea.  Perhaps someone in her position couldn't afford to be in a relationship at such a time.  But, she always wondered, what if that would always be the case...?

When such questions reared their ugly heads, there was one person she could always turn to: Master Wei Fong.  To the rest of his students, he was a shifu with rigid strictness, eyes like a hawk, and the kindest heart of any instructor.  Only April knew him as her Sailor guardian.  He could answer all of her inquiries about any of the other Sailors...if he felt the timing was right.  Sometimes he would amaze her with thrilling, second-by-second accounts of epic battles, stories that lasted for hours.

For the most part, though, he was mysterious and vague.  It seemed the more the answer pertained to April, the more complicated and unsatisfactory his explanation would be.  "All these things will reveal themselves to you.  Eventually."  And then, just when she would be ready to finally explode and berate him for not trying harder to help her, he would flash a rare smile that stilled her tongue and, somehow, put her mind at ease.  Still, she wondered why he was so secretive about some of the simplest things.  Pegasus, the flying horse, was one of them.  In a strange way, this gave April hope.  Many nights before drifting off, she would clutch a drawing of the angelic creature.  "Master Fong keeps me from things that are relevant to me.  Maybe I'll meet you one day after all..."

"Oof!"  April fell to the floor with a loud THUD.  "You win again, Shifu," she said, staggering up and bowing respectfully.

"Don't beat yourself up," he replied with a smirk, "considering I've already done that for you.  You fight with much rage and aggression, but too much of that will cloud your perception.  Only when you learn to battle with a clear mind and clear heart will you have a true advantage over your foes."

The exhausted girl nodded and wiped her brow, considering this.  Just then, the students started walking in.  She and Master Fong took turns teaching, so he took the first group while she went to make a phone call.  She wanted to see if her friend Phoebe had remembered everything for their sleepover that night.  A groggy voice answered, "Mhmm?"

April chucked.  "Pheebs, don't tell me you're still in bed!"

There was a pause on the other end.  "Sure...I mean, yeah of course.  What're you doing up this early?"

"Well, if 12:00 noon's too early for work I guess I'll just slip off!"

"Work on a Sunday?  Can't Mr. Pong give you, like, a break?"

"I want to be on the job because it keeps me in top physical condition, plus I get paid for it.  You know, money? That stuff you use to buy other stuff with, such as stuff for a sleepover?"

Phoebe yawned.  "Oh yeah, I forgot all about that.  Well, don't worry.  I've got it covered."

April, amused, shook her head.  "All right, bye."

"Bye."  The phone was put down, but April could still hear the other girl grumbling about waking up early.

"Pheebs!  Turn it the other way!"  Then the line clicked.  Although extremely forgetful and impulsive, pink-haired Phoebe was a vital part of the team.  As Sailor Shield, she was the group's greatest defense, able to completely heal one person per battle and deflect any attacks.  Besides that, she was wonderful comic relief.

"GAACK!!" Phoebe dashed under her bed, trembling.  "I don't wanna watch this one!"

April and the others laughed hysterically.  "Those are just the previews!" hooted Gina, alias Sailor Fog.

"Besides," chuckled Brianna, a.k.a. Sailor Asteroid, "you picked this one.  Did you honestly think a fairy movie would be that scary?"

Phoebe crawled out and flipped her hair back.  "Of course not!  I was just...trying to make you laugh."

"Sure thing," said Fiona, a.k.a.  Sailor Comet.

Jody, Sailor Hurricane, shushed the others.  "It's starting!"  They all leaned forward with anticipation....

Suddenly, the TV flashed off, along with the lights.  At the same time, their emergency bracelets pulsed with a faint glow.  April knew exactly what was going on when she looked out the window to see that the entire city was blocked out.  A rematch with these losers is way overdue, she thought as she stood up.  "Time to shed some light on the situation, girls!"

    "Plasma Pulse Make-Up!"

    "Shield's Grace Make-Up!"

    "Comet's Crisis Make-Up!"

    "Asteroid's Anger Make-Up!"

    "Hurricane Fusion Make-Up!"

    "Fog's Fury Make-Up!"

The transformed girls jumped out of Phoebe's two-story window.  Normally, April would've used the frequency of her bracelet's pulse to find the source of trouble.  This time, she knew exactly where to go.  They hid behind the bushes outside a power plant and watched as great sparks erupted from it.  "I fought these characters before we become a team," whispered Sailor Plasma.  "They beat me because of my electricity last time; instead of overloading their circuits, they absorb it somehow.  With us fighting together, this should be a breeze."  That said, she disintegrated into plasma, flew to the top of the plant, and reassembled herself.  "Hold it right there!"

The villains stopped and looked up.  "Well well, if it isn't the Cyborgs Sick.  Finally got over that bug in your programming?  Apparently not."  She jumped from the tower.  "Thus, for peace and harmony, I, Sailor Plasma, will bring you down!"

The biggest of the half-robots laughed sinisterly.  "For the last time, little firefly, it's the Cyborg Six!  You obviously have short-term memory, considering that we almost destroyed you last time!"  His fists clenched as the group circled her.  "We would've done it, too, if that blasted kung fu master with his chi-disrupting moves hadn't showed up.  And where is he now?  You've got no one to protect you today."

"Oh, haven't I?"  Each jumped at her from a different direction, but she jumped into the air, somersaulted, and landed on both feet.  The cyborgs crashed into one another, and she shouted, "Now, Sailor Team!"

Sailor Shield jumped out.  "You thought to devastate the human race..."

Sailor Comet followed.  "Prepare to face defeat by a new face!"

Plasma interrupted with a moan.  "Guys, not that corny rhyme..."

Sailor Asteroid appeared and shushed her.  "Peace and justice today will prevail..."

Next was Sailor Hurricane.  "So gird you loins and prepare to wail!"  Plasma put her face into her palm.

Finally came Sailor Fog.  "The Sailor Team's here to save the day..."

She looked expectantly at Plasma, who rolled her eyes.  Quickly she mumbled,  "And your butts are going to jail, hooray."

Satisfied, Fog used Distortion to create a dense mist.  The cyborgs stumbled around and complained about rust.  Sailor Comet used Target Seeker, releasing six glowing bursts of energy that found and knocked out the enemies one by one.  Sailor Asteroid used Black Belt Attack to finish the job, creating a ring of onyx rocks that wrapped around the cyborgs.

The mist had cleared, and the girls stood back to admire their work.  "That was so easy, it was sad.  Good job, girls.  Now let's get these tin cans to a nice, cozy magnetic cell."

The leader of the Cyborg Six smiled evilly.  "As usual, you've underestimated our true power.  You see, we've had a long time to upgrade our technology, and I believe you'll find the results quite explosive!"  His cyborganic hand began to unfold and rearranged itself.  The minion on his right did the same, until the two hands were one bigger unit.  To the girls' horror, this game them two-fold strength, allowing them to break out of their bonds.  Even worse, one of the shattering rocks knocked Sailor Shield on the head.  She blacked out before she could scream.

As the villains continued to transform, Plasma ran to Shield and pulled her from the rubble.  Leading everyone behind a large tree, she whispered, "They're morphing into some kind of super machine.  Unless Shield comes back around, we won't stand much of a chance.  The first thing we have to do is alert the people.  Comet, that's where you come in.  Now remember, when the light goes on, we're playing Russian Roulette.  Hurricane, make sure nothing happens to Shield."

The other Soldiers took a deep breath and nodded.  Comet used Spotlight, creating a pulse light that spun faster and faster into the air until it glowed steadily and bathed the city in light.  Without warning, the tree was uprooted by an enormous hand.  It swung into the group like a baseball bat, knocking them several yards into the air.  Bruised and splotched with blood, they looked weakly up at the mega cyborg.  It was five stories tall, wider than a city bus, and it has six arms on each side.  Most disturbing were its six heads.  It spoke with six voices at once: "Now that our brains and brawns are combined, you puny cicadas have no chance!  With the energy of this  town under our control, everyone will succumb to our rule or go backt o living in the Dark Ages!  By the end of the week, we will command the entire..."

"Wait, this joke sounds familiar," interrupted Plasma, summoning her lightning rod.  "Only you forgot the punchline!"  She charged and plunged it as hard as she could into the mecha's foot.  It jumped up and screamed in pain; meanwhile, Comet flew up on a rock and flew around in confusing circles.

Meanwhile, Asteroid was creating a massive trench, and Plasma was attempting to manipulate the machine by redirecting its energy.  The hope was that once it fell into the trench, it wouldn't be able to get up.  Once it was ready, Plasma gave Comet the signal to get down.  Asteroid created another diversion by hurling rocks at it while Plasma flew to the top of the building in her plasma state.   This might be my only chance to save us, she thought.  I can't fail everyone again.  She aimed her lightning rod at the mecha's back, hoping it would go all the way through its power core.  Closing her eyes, she jumped.

No one had time to warn her as the mega cyborg whirled and caught her in its massive fist.  They all froze and looked up in terror.  "What a pity," hissed the mecha as she struggled, "that you failed to notice the eyes in the back of my head."  Sailor Hurricane crept closer to try and help.  It was futile, for the beastly machine brought its foot down inches away from her.  "One more move and the sparky one gets crumpled like aluminum foil!"  Softly, it ran a finger larger than her whole body through Plasma's hair.  "And what a shame that would be, when I have such a great plan for her."  Suddenly, the tip of the finger opened, and an enormous burst of electricity shot out of it.  She tried to release an even stronger amount to repel it, but the mecha was too strong.

There wasn't anything her teammates could do.  They watched helpless as her tiara started to blink, faster and faster, until her energy gave out.  Her lightning bolt faded, along with her sailor uniform.  Once the mecha had seen her secret identity, its six heads smiled wretchedly.  Amazingly, April was still partially conscious.  She felt herself falling, for the villain has thrown her into the trench intended for it.  The impact jarred her brain, and she started to slip away.  Before her eyes shut, she saw it raise its great foot...she heard the other Sailors scream with rage and terror...three glowing bodies falling from the sky...

"This one looks like they were thrown into a generator!  I don't know what we can..."

"Oh, but you just have to help April!  If anything happens to her I'll-I'LL PULL OUT EVERY STRAND OF MY BEAUTIFUL PINK HAIR!"

"OK OK DON'T SHAKE ME LIKE THAT!!"

The frantic, angry voice belonged to Phoebe.  Unbeknownst to her and the others, the person she shook violently was Tiger's-Eye.  Hawk's-Eye and Fish-Eye, the other two members of the Amazon Trio, crouched nearby.  They were in the trench with April, whose clothes were ripped; skin was burnt, bruised, and bloody; whose eyes were empty and lifeless.

"So," he asked, "how did this happen to your friend, anyway?"

For once, Phoebe was thinking clearly.  "We were supposed to have a sleepover, but April didn't show and when we went looking for her the mecha was attacking.  Just as we were going to get help, you guys arrived."  Truthfully, they had hidden when the Trio descended and changed back to normal.

"Well, we won't accomplish anything down here," he decided.  He took the frail form of April and draped her across his shoulder as if she weighed nothing.  With one hand, he climbed out of the ditch.  Fish-Eye and Hawk's-Eye followed, the latter carrying Phoebe.

Gina ran up to them.  "I just talked to a friend of ours.  We have to take her right to him.  Thanks for all your help."

Fish-Eye frowned a little.  "Does that mean you don't want us to come?"

"No, it means that our friend doesn't want you to come."

"But you don't understand," said Fish-Eye impatiently.  "We were supposed to..."

"Never mind."  Tiger's-Eye set April down.  "If they don't need us, so be it." I'm not used to this kind of work in the first place, he added mentally.

"Come on girls!"  said Phoebe urgently.  "Let's get her to Mr. Pong!"

"FONG," they corrected her at once.  Jody and Brianna, the strongest besides April, each grabbed one end of the unconscious body and heaved.  "GAH MY BACK!" roared the younger Jody.  One by one, the girls added their strength until they had managed to lift April.

"That's it...now, off to the dojo we go!" said Gina with clenched teeth.

A few yards away, Tiger's-Eye snorted.  "Look at them, weak and virtually helpless.  It's a wonder any of them are still in one piece."

Hawk's-Eye chuckled and jabbed him in the shoulder.  "True, but you have to admit it's good to be around real women again."

Fish-Eye glared at both of them.  "What was that?  I'm about sick of you two and your obsession with curvy bodies, short skirts, and unhealthily large boobs!"

"Oh shut up."  Tiger's Eye rubbed his shoulder.  "I couldn't care less about short skirts."

"UGH! Look, where you like it or not, Pegasus put me in charge.  Now, you're going to convince them to let us help, or else..."

"PHOEBE YOU BLOODY KLUTZ LOOK WHAT YOU DID!"  They turned to see the Sailor Team sprawled in all directions, thanks to Phoebe's tripping on a rock.

Fish-Eye raised an eyebrow, and the arrogant red-head heaved a deep sigh.  "Fine."  Brianna was mumbling something about 100 calorie packs when he walked over.  Inwardly, he grouched, I shouldn't have to degrade myself like this!  Ah well...at least I'll get to use my irresistible charm again.  He cleared his throat, distracting Gina and Phoebe from their name-calling rampage.  "Pardon me," he began.  "I'm afraid we didn't make our intentions clear.  You see, we were sent here on a special mission: to protect your friend April.  Our sources tell us she is in terrible danger."

Phoebe gasped in horror, as if she didn't already know that.  "Y-You mean someone wants to k-kill her?"

Hawk's-Eye came and knelt next to her.  "Yes.  And that's the last thing we want to happen."

Tiger's-Eye's face glowed in the moonlight as a slight breeze rustled through his golden hair.  "We're prepared to risk our lives for you.  But if you're not comfortable with that, we'll leave."

They started to walk away, but Phoebe grabbed at their heels, toppling them both.  "Don't go!" she wailed pathetically.  "We need all the help we can get!"  The others nodded vigorously.

Tiger's-Eye clenched his fist.  "Very well then."  Calmly as he could, he stood and scooped April into his arms.  "Lead the way," he added with a devastating smile.

The moon was high in the sky when they set off for April's only hope of recovery.  The Amazon Trio lagged behind and spoke lowly.  "As much as I hate to say it, you should win an award for that performance," jousted Hawk's-Eye.

"You didn't do too bad yourself," his friend replied.  "That girl practically fell apart!"

Fish-Eye shook her head and quickened her pace.  Here they are with a new life, she fumed mentally, and they continue to louse things up with their immaturity!  Well, there's no way they're going to ruin my second chance.  A brief glance at the crumpled form of April sent her heart racing with fear.  I hope I'm not too late to save my first assignment....

</I>

Somewhere in isolated twilight, April stood shivering, clutching her bare body, trying in vain to banish the piercing darkness that threatened to consume her.  Exhausted, she sunk to her knees.  This is it, isn't it?  I finally made the biggest mistake of my life...or one of the biggest.  I was too angry, too eager, too hasty, and I let everyone down.  Who knows but that they're not gone, too?  She put her head into her hands.  I'm just a miserable excuse for a Sailor...a miserable excuse for a human being!  And what's worse, I didn't get to say goodbye.  Streams of water fell from her eyes.  I never get the chance to say goodbye....

</I>Suddenly, a voice broke through the void.  You don't have to!  It was calm, sweet, and soothing, but April dared not look up.  A hand touched her chin and gently lifted her head.  What she saw before her caused the frightened girl to cry out:  It was a young woman that, at first glance, looked exactly like April.  She too was devoid of clothing, plus she possessed the same large, purple eyes; lush, black hair that fell to her bottom; the same intensely brown skin.  What was unmistakably different were her brilliant white wings...

...and a single lightning bolt symbol on her forehead.  W-who are you?  April whispered.

Isn't it obvious, silly?  She smiled and held out her hand to pull April up.  I am you.

</I>April gasped in disbelief.  You are...Eternal Sailor Plasma?!  I had no idea you even existed...

Nonsense.  Inside every Senshii is her Eternal.

Yeah, every one except me.  The Eternal form is only granted to the bravest, hardest-working, most elite fighters.  Being me, you should remember what Master Fong said!  I've been training for thirteen years, and I'm still nowhere near my prime.

Then just what do you think you are?  April, you threw yourself right at the enemy, you protected your friends, and you still came out alive!

    Alive?  You mean...I'm not...this isn't...?

You're going to be fine.  But there is an immense danger waiting for you.  You must be prepared.

Wait a minute!  How can you know so much more than me when you...are me?

It's like you said, in a way I don't exist yet.  But I will.

</I>April's eyes started to water again.  When?  Why can't anyone ever give me a straight answer?

You have to learn many things for yourself.  What you don't realize is that you've already done such a good job of that!</I>  Eternal Plasma put a hand on her shoulder.  Seeing I'm another part of you, I may as well let you in on one more thing.  Within you lies tremendous power, much more than you know.  When the time is right, you will unlock it and more besides."

</I>    April fell into a spasm of tears.  T-thank you...I do believe you.  Now instead of darkness, she saw a beautiful, sprawling beach.  It was accompanied by a towering volcano filled with bubbling lava....

Eternal Plasma smiled and pulled April into a hug.  You just said that you believe in yourself.  That's a wonderful start.  I believe in you too....Her angel wings wrapped around April, the bolt on her head glowed, and she was gone.</P>

I never thought this moment would come, but I'm finally done with the first part of my Sailor Moon fan fic! I changed it several times before I was content with it, especially considering I'm not that experienced of a writer. In fact, this is just the second time I've made my writing public.

To clear up a few things about the plot, Fish-Eye was indeed a guy in the Japanese version of Sailor Moon, but it took me several episodes to figure it out...or rather, allow myself to believe that it was a male. Because of something I intend to do in the plot, and since I don't do yaoi (no offense to anyone who does), I made her girl. After all, that is what happened in the English dub as well.

Sailor Soldiers of America might seem a weird title since all the girls are in Hawaii, but technically that is in the U.S., and anyway unless there was a major change in the overall way they work, they'd still be able to only protect one state at a time. I chose the title because they're spread out according to country, not state.

I had briefly considering making the Amazon Trio rejoin the Senshii in Japan and having Minako (Jupiter) fall for Tiger's-Eye again, but I figured that'd be too complicated... especially since I've mainly watched Super S due to my fixation with Tiger's-Eye and don't know what happens in the next episodes. That would've been too hard to kinda forget about the original plot and just write in whatever I thought sounded cool.

Well, that's about it! I really appreciate your feedback on it: plot, grammar, spelling, etc. :D I hope you enjoy!
